Voting on Listings

All websites that are listed in our directories are subject to votes that determine the position they occupy in the rankings. However, such votes are not dependant on only one person and as such cannot be influenced by a single person. The more people voting for a site, the better chance that site has of ranking well. Every website that is listed can rank higher depending on the number of users that click the vote now button.

Since StandardsAfrica would like to build a reliable and competent listing of accurate websites, we do not make use of keywords or any other data to rank these sites. At the same time, we make sure that none of the sites are “fixed” -meaning that all results are the real results of people clicking them. Every vote counts and so the more votes a particular site earns, the better are its chances of ranking well in the list. If a site ranks higher up, it effectively means that the site is more trusted and provides all the necessary information that a user would require.

Apart from our sponsors and reciprocal linkings, all sites are monitored and offered the voting system. We ensure that all banner advertisements are placed in a manner so as not to obstruct your viewing of the site or the rankings.  We do provide editor recommendations, but you will find these at the top of the listings and clearly marked as such and they do not affect the voting system. Since StandardsAfrica is designed as a means of providing quality information to its online users, the more votes we receive, the better it is in helping others find exactly what it is they are looking for.
